Photo ID Voting Bill Killed

AUGUSTA, Maine - Republican's in the Legislature agree to drop a controversial bill over voting rights.

The measure would have required voters to produce state approved photo identification at polling stations.

Critics blasted the plan saying it would keep some people, especially the elderly, from voting.

Instead, the GOP passed a resolve calling on the Secretary of State to study changes that might be made to Maine's election system.
