New Poll Shows Brennan On Top In Portland Mayor Race
Jeff Wade Reporting
PORTLAND, Maine - A new poll suggests former State Senator Michael Brennan may have the inside track in the race for mayor of Portland.
The automated telephone poll, conducted by the Maine People's Resource Center, was conducted over the weekend and surveyed 477 likely Portland voters. Participants were also asked to list their 2nd and 3rd choices out of 9 candidates, and the results were tallied similar to how they will be counted using the ranked-choice system being used for the mayoral vote.
The poll showed Brennan ultimately emerging as the preferred choice, with former State Senator Ethan Strimling finishing 2nd. Current mayor Nick Mavadones and 6 other candidates rounded out the field.
