State Concerned About Tattoo Parties

AUGUSTA, Maine - State authorities are warning the public that tattoo parties and tattooing minors are illegal. 

The Maine Sunday Telegram reports Maine officials have been receiving an increasing number of complaints about those activities. 

The Maine Center for Disease Control says the number of complaints about illegal tattooing has jumped from 13 in 2010 to 31 in 2011.
